Electromagnetic stress
We have all become so dependent on our electronics to get through our busy days.
We use mobile phones to speak to our loved ones or make business calls. Our laptops and tablets are used throughout the day to get work done, do video conference calls or be creative. At the end of a long day we sit back and watch TV, play on our phones and catch up on Social Media.
All of these devices are electronic and generate electromagnetic radiation, some more than others. All of this invisible radiation around us can cause headaches, fatigue or in some cases, something worse.
There are many ways to reduce your exposure to this radiation, some easier to implement that others.
- Placement of electronics – things like wifi routers, chargers etc. all produce an electromagnetic field, so think about where you put them.
- Turning off electronics when they are not in use or at night – this will also save you money on your energy bills.
- Try to keep your mobile as far away from you as is practical – this is very important when you are asleep. Obviously keeping your phone at the end of the garden is not going to work, but you do not need to have your phone in your pocket all day.
- Do not stand next to your microwave when it is on – to do their job properly, microwaves are a powerful electromagnetic source. The radiation does reduce quite quickly as you move away, so try not to stick your nose on the glass and watch your food go round and round.
- Invest in an EM cancelling device like this one to reduce the radiation in your home, office or car.
- You can also reduce the impact of EM radiation by getting out into nature and walking barefoot on sand or soil, this grounds you – a principle taught in Yoga. This has the added benefit of allowing time for mindfulness and great for your mental health.
